Dodge Lets the First Challenger SRT Hellcat out of its Cage in the Name of Charity

We're not sure if you felt the shift in the automotive universe this past weekend, but after recent events, the streets of North America have been changed forever. What car could possibly have such a dramatic effect on the world as we know it, you ask? There's only one cat out there whose purr can take the paint off a trailing Passat, and that's the 707-horsepower 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hemi Hellcat.

This devilish feline isn't ready for public sale quite yet, but the premier model -- VIN #0001 -- sold for $825k at the Barrett-Jackson auction house this weekend to Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports. While that price tag may have you coughing on a hairball, your shock can be curbed by the fact that all proceeds went to the Opportunity Village non-profit for the mentally-disabled of Las Vegas.

See the Hemi Hellcat set quietly while muscle car fans fight to have her all to themselves:

The very first Hellcat may have slipped through your fingers, but don't let the rest of them roar by. Check in with our sales staff, here at Baker Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Princeton, NJ, for more information on when this all-powerful Challenger will be arriving to the showroom.
